Can't Fool the Clock

As she stared into the mirror, she lost herself in her youth. The hair that needed no persuasion to curl, the flawless skin, and the delicate curve of her eyebrows, were all characteristics lost to time. Not even the make-up could cover the aging skin. As she stared into the mirror, she tried to masquerade as her younger self.....

For 's 13th OC Challenge, Masquerade of Seasons.

Many people chose to interpret the theme very literally, that is to say, chose "season" to mean "spring, summer, fall or winter," and likewise took "masquerade" to mean the "dress up and have a ball." I chose to approach it a little bit differently, and I'm afraid it might be hard to understand my piece.

Make-up is a tool to hide one's identity. Using make-up is how I chose to portray "masquerade." Seasons can refer to years of one's life, for example, a woman of 60 winters. This is the interpretation I chose to use for "seasons."

And there you have it! I may edit this a bit before the deadline, but I can't look at it any more right now. @__@
